The National Regulatory Authority for Communications (ANRC) allotted S.C. Mobifon S.A. new numbering resources for telephony services, by modifying the licence the company obtained in February 2003. Also by modifying the licence, ANRC allotted new numbering resources to S.C. Romtelecom S.A., as well. Timisoara-based S.C. World Telecom Network S.R.L. also obtained a licence for the use of numbering resources.
According to the changes in their licences, Mobifon a supplementary block of 1,000,000 numbers type 0726 xxx xxx to provide mobile telephony services country-wide and Romtelecom will use another 60,000 numbers from the 0Z=02 domain, to provide fixed telephony services in Bucharest.
World Telecom Network will provide fixed telephony services, for which it received 70,000 national numbers from the 0Z=03 domain. Of these, a block of 10,000 numbers type 0317 40x xxx will be used in Bucharest and the rest in other six counties across the country. The company also received 1,000 numbers type 0808 740 xxx for the provision of telephony services through pre-paid cards and the individual selection code 1074.
So far, 31 companies authorised for the provision of telephony services obtained licences for the use of numbering resources from ANRC. The numbering resources allotted exceed 28,000,000 phone numbers.
