The National Regulatory Authority for Communications (ANRC) issued two new licences for the use of numbering resources, to S.C. ARtelecom S.A. and S.C. NECC Telecom Romania S.R.L, both located in Bucharest. Also, ANRC allotted additional resources to S.C. Romtelecom S.A. and S.C. Iristel Romania S.R.L., by changing the licences held by these operators.
ARtelecom will provide fixed telephony services, for which it has received 450,000 national numbers within the 0Z = 03 domain. From these, 50,000 numbers (type 031 600 xxxx – 031 604 xxxx) will be used within Bucharest, and the rest within the Romania’s counties.
NECC Telecom Romania will provide fixed telephony services in Bucharest, for which it has received a block of 10,000 numbers type 031 660 xxxx, as well as for telephony services through prepaid cards, for which it has received a block of 1,000 numbers type 0808 760 xxx. The individual carrier selection code assigned to this operator is 1076.
Based of the changes in the licence for the use of numbering resources, Romtelecom was allotted additional resources within the short local numbers category, which will be used for the provision of fixed telephony services within Bucharest and the counties. The numbers allotted for Bucharest are type: 910(x), 918(x), 919(x), 972(x), and for the counties, these numbers are: 910, 918, 919.
The licence held by Iristel Romania was also modified, the operator receiving in addition the 1028 individual carrier selection code.
So far, 37 companies authorized to provide telephony services received numbering licences from ANRC. The numbering resources allotted so far exceed 30,000,000 numbers.
