Today, May 27, 2004, ANRC launched for public consultation the draft Decision on the amendment of ANRC President’s Decision no.88/2004 on the designation of the universal service provider in the field of postal services.
The project operates the necessary amendments for the harmonization of the internal rules with the European directives and it specifies, with respect to postal items, the weight and tariff limits that will become the object of the reserved rights granted to the National Company Posta Româna S.A. (CNPR) starting with January 1, 2006. After this date, according to the ANRC project, the reserved postal services will include those services that involve postal items up to 50 g and have a tariff established at a value smaller than 2.5 times the public tariff that corresponds to an item of correspondence in the first weight step of the fastest standard category included in CNPR’s offer. In accordance with ANRC President’s Decision no.88/2004, the tariffs for the services that CNPR, in its capacity as a universal service provider, has the obligation to provide will be changed only upon ANRC approval.
