ANRCTI allotted new numbering resources for the provision of telephony services to the following companies: S.C. CANAL S S.R.L., S.C. COSMOTE ROMANIAN MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS S.A., S.C. ORANGE ROMANIA S.A., S.C.TELETEHNIC S.R.L., S.C. UPC ROMANIA S.A. and S.C. VODAFONE ROMANIA S.A.


According to the license issued by ANRCTI,
Orange requested and was granted the right to use 1 million national non-geographic numbers for the provision of fixed telephone services, within the 0Z=03 domain, at a national level. This granting takes place after Vodafone had received at its turn, in November 2006, the right to use 1 million national non-geographic numbers and 500,000 national geographic number within the 0Z=03 domain, for the provision of fixed telephone numbers.

In addition to the previously allotted resources, 1 million national numbers within the 0Z=07 domain were allotted to Vodafone and Cosmote was granted the right to use 1 million national numbers for mobile telephone services.

Teletehnic company, that requested numbering resources for the second time, was granted the right to use 370,000 numbers for the provision of fixed telephone services. Also, 130,000 numbers within the 0Z=03 domain were allotted to UPC Romania, at the level of Suceava, Iasi, Galati, Buzau, Braila, Constanta, Prahova, Hunedoara, Timis, Bistrita-Nasaud, Cluj and Harghita counties as well as for Bucharest.

The Canal S company requested and was granted the right to use 400,000 numbers for the provision of fixed telephone services, at the level of 39 counties as well as for Bucharest.

So far, ANRCTI allotted more than 73.5 million numbers based on the procedure of granting licences for the use of numbering resources. 55.3% of these have been allotted for fixed telephone services, whereas 43.5% of the allotted numbering resources were assigned for the provision of mobile telephone services.
