June 28, 2007 – the President of the National Regulatory Authority for Communications (ANRCTI), Mr. Dan Georgescu, and Mr. Dorin Odiatiu, International Business and Interconnection Manager of Orange Romania, have met the users of the telecentre in Dunavatu de Jos county of Tulcea, in order to present them and test together the telephone and Internet services provided by the telecentre installed here by Orange.
June 27, 2007 – the President of the National Regulatory Authority for Communications (ANRCTI), Mr. Dan Georgescu, and Mr. Cristian Fota, National Sales Director of Radiocom, have met the users of the telecentre in Runcu county of Constanta, in order to present them and test together the telephone and Internet services provided by the telecentre installed here by Radiocom.
The two telecentres are part of the national programme for the installation of telecentres in villages with limited access or without access to telephony services, initiated by ANRCTI in 2004. So far, ANRCTI has launched 5 tenders for the purpose of installing telecentres in 331 localities. On June 1, 2007, ANRCTI has launched the sixth public tender for the installation of telecentres in 131 new rural localities in 29 counties of Romania.
At present, 187 telecentres are functional.
