On Thursday, 2 April 2009, Marius Catalin Marinescu was assigned President of the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), for a six-year mandate, by the presidential decree no.509 of 1 April 2009, published yesterday in the Romanian Official Journal.
Starting 1990, Catalin Marinescu has been working in the communications sector, both for companies such as Romtelecom (15 years) and for public institutions such as the Inspectorate General for Communication and Information Technology, which he presided between 2005 and 2007.
Catalin Marinescu is a telecommunications engineer, a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications and holds a diploma in Advanced Telecommunications Technologies from the same university. Furthermore, Catalin Marinescu holds a Master diploma in Management and Change in the Public Sector, from the University of Manchester.
