The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) launches for public consultation a draft decision which amends and completes the Radiocommunications Regulation for the amateur service in Romania.
The Regulation needs to be amended mainly because of the entry into force, on 3 December 2009, of the new National Table for Frequency Allocation, reviewed according to the new European regulations, which grants additional frequency bands to the radioamateur service in Romania.
Therefore, the ANCOM draft decision amends and completes the radio frequency bands which may be used for specific activities of the amateur and amateur-satellite services, amends and updates the maximum peack envelope power level in this band, updates the radio frequency bands which have up to 1,000 W maximum peack envelope power level and establishes the terms under which the 70.00 – 73.00 MHz radio frequency band may be used.
The draft decision also provides, among other, the removal of the obligation to attach authenticated copies of the documents to be made available to ANCOM when requesting the individual authorisation, as well as the amendment of the provisions concerning the term within which ANCOM may release the radioamateur certificate to the candidates who have passed the examination therefor. Thus, the certificates are to be released within 15 days from the date the ANCOM Regional Divisions publish the results.
Currently, in Romania there are 3,900 radioamateurs.
The draft decision is available for consultation on the ANCOM website, here. The interested persons are invited to send their comments and suggestions, by 23.02.2010, at the ANCOM headquarters in 2 Delea Noua Street, Bucharest 3, directly to the Registry or by means of the Authority’s regional divisions. Comments and recommendations may also be sent by fax to +40 732 845 404 or by e-mail to consultare@ancom.org.ro.
