On March 26th, 2011, ANCOM (the Beneficiary) and MCSI (the Intermediate Body) have signed the financing contract for the “Online application for comparing the communications offers intended for the end-users” project, which is financed within the Sector Operational Programme “Increase of Economic Competitiveness” 2007-2013, Priority Axis 3 “Information Technology and Communications for the private and public sectors”, Key Area of Intervention 2 “Developing and increasing the efficiency of electronic public services” Operation “Supporting the setting-up of e-government solutions along with the necessary broadband connectivity (if the latter is needed)”.
The total value of the project subjected to the non-reimbursable financing amounts to 2,207,450.48 lei, out of which: the eligible value amounts to 904,284.00 lei, and the non-eligible value amounts to 1,303,166.48 lei. Project’s implementation period is 19 months.
The overall objective is to facilitate – by electronic means – the end-users’ access to the services offered by the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), for the purpose of ensuring the efficiency of public administration, for the socio-economic benefit of the Romanian society.
The specific objective consists in building up, managing and making publicly available a webpage which could provide comparative information on the tariffs and conditions offered by the providers of the three main types of publicly available electronic communications services – fixed telephony, mobile telephony and broadband Internet access – by means of a “price calculator” interactive application.
