On the occasion of the official visit of the delegation of the Jordanian Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) to Romania, the Memorandum of Understanding between ANCOM and TRC was concluded. The agreement sets out the formal framework for bilateral cooperation on the regulation of electronic communications, postal services and spectrum management.

According to the Memorandum, the two regulatory authorities will cooperate in domains such as radio spectrum management and monitoring, satellite policies and satellite frequency monitoring, broadband infrastructure development, security and resilience of telecommunications, digital services and artificial intelligence networks and services, and protecting the interests of end-users. ANCOM and TRC will collaborate through exchanges of experience and information, organization of meetings, courses, workshops and joint actions within international organizations.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Presidents of the two authorities, respectively Mr. Bassam Al-Sarhan and Mr. Valeriu Zgonea, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Romania, His Excellency Mr. Mutaz Abdul Rahman Taha Al-Khasawneh.

The conclusion of the Memorandum by the two presidents of authorities was preceded by a bilateral meeting, during which the participants reviewed opportunities for strengthening cooperation relationships between Romania and Jordan in the field of electronic communications development.

The official visit of the TRC takes place in the context of the 60th anniversary of established diplomatic relations between the two countries. Thus, ANCOM is consolidating its international profile, contributing to Romania’s interests in the field of electronic communications, postal services and management of limited resources for electronic communications.

The Jordan Telecommunications Regulatory Commission is an independent governmental authority responsible for regulating the telecom and postal sectors in Jordan. It was established in 1995, and it is one of the oldest regulators in Jordan.
