ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022

Between 26 September and 14 October 2022, Romania hosted the 21st edition of the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an event of major importance for the information technology and communications (IT&C) sector across the globe.
The Plenipotentiary Conference is the highest policy-making body of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It is the key event at which the 193 ITU Member States come together every four years to decide on the future role of the organization, thereby determining its ability to influence and affect the development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) worldwide.
The Conference sets the Union’s general policies, adopts four-year strategic and financial plans, and elects the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board.
Houlin ZHAO, Secretary-General, International Telecommunications Union
