New Numbers for Telephone Services Allotted by ANRC

ANRC allotted new numbering resources to ten fixed telephone services providers, as well as to one company that provides mobile telephone services.

S.C. Interaction Blue S.R.L. and S.C. Interglob S.R.L. each requested and received 410,000 numbers that are to be used for the provision of fixed telephone services. The latter was also alloted 1000 numbers that are to be used for providing services by means of prepaid cards, and also the individual carrier one-step pre-selection code 1694.

The numbering resources alloted to S.C. RCS&RDS S.A. were extended with 60,000 numbers that will also be used for the provision of fixed telephone services.

Upon the request of S.C. Cosmote Romanian Mobile Telecommunications S.A., ANRC extended with 1 million numbers the numbering resources already alloted to this company for providing mobile telephone services.

S.C. Astral Telecom S.A., S.C. Datek Telecom S.R.L., S.C. Intex Prim S.R.L., S.C. JPC Net S.R.L., S.C. Rompetrol S.A., S.C. Real Network and Telecommunications S.R.L. and S.C. Vialtex Prodcom S.R.L. each received 10,000 numbers for the provision of fixed telephone services.

The total number of mobile telephone services users in Romania exceeds 13 million, while, by the end of last year, the number of fixed telephone services users amounted to over 4.39 million. Also, by the end of 2005, there were 74 alternative operators active on the fixed telephony market, with a market quota of around 10%. The numbering resources alloted by ANRC so far, based on the procedure for granting licences for the use of numbering resources, reached the value of 61.334 million.
