265 providers of electronic communications networks and services, who failed to comply with the deadline of February 15, 2006, in reporting the statistical data for the second half of 2005, have been notified by ANRC on the fact that failure to send the statistical data within the next 30 days shall be sanctioned by a fine of up to RON 30,000 per day of delay.
The notification is just the first step of the sanctioning procedure, according to the provisions of the Government Emergency Ordinance no.79/2002 on the general regulatory framework for communications. The 265 providers who received the official notification from ANRC represent 12% of the total number of 2151 authorised providers registered by the end of 2005 who had the obligation to report statistical data for the second half of last year. The rest of 88% have already transmitted the reports to ANRC.
According to the ANRC President’s Decision no.1332/2003, statistical data reports shall be submitted twice a year. The deadline for submitting reports on the providers’ activity between July 1 and December 31, 2005, is January 31, 2006. The financial statistical data and the statistics on the employees shall be transmitted within 30 days from the deadline for submitting the annual financial statements and, respectively, the half-yearly accounting reports to the territorial units of the Ministry of Public Finance.
By mid-2006, ANRC is to consolidate, check and process the reported statistical data and to publish a report on the development of the electronic communications market in 2005.
