Today, September 19, 2008, Liviu Nistoran has been appointed President of the National Authority for Communciations (ANC), by the Prime Minister’s Decision no. 182/2008. The new Authority was set up by reorganising the National Regulatory Authority for Communications and Information Technology (ANRCTI) – which was dissolved –, and also reorganising, by division, the Institute for Research and Development for Information Technology (ICI).
Liviu Nistoran graduated the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and has a 14-year experience in the Romanian communications sector, as a founder and manager of several companies in the field of communications and information technology. Starting from 2004, he is a Member of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Committee for Communications and Information Technology.
