The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), through its Regional Divisions of Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi and Timisoara, organises – between 10 April and 20 May 2010 – the ordinary examination session for the certificates of radioamateur and radiocommunications operator in the land mobile service.
ANCOM issues these certificates following an examination organised in two sessions, in April and October each year, by the Authority’s regional divisions.
The examination sessions for the certificates of radio operator in the land mobile service will be held in the period 20 – 21 April 2010 (in Bucharest), 11 – 12 May 2010 (in Timisoara) and 20 May (in Cluj). The examinations for the radioamateur certificates will be held on 10 April (in Iasi), during 13 – 14 April (in Bucharest), 17 April (in Cluj), and 20 April (in Timisoara). The interested persons can register for the two types of examinations by submitting a registration request, along with a copy of the requester’s ID card/birth certificate or passport and a color photo, passport-type.
The specific users of the land mobile radiocommunications networks of private use – who need a radio operator certificate in order to operate radiocommunications stations – are both small entrepreneurs and big companies that require radio communications through their own networks. These companies operate in domains such as: industry, production, utility transport and distribution at a national level, transport, constructions and public works, agriculture, forestry, security and protection of privacy, public protection, public health, community management services etc. There are more than 22,000 valid operator certificates for the radiocommunications stations i the land mobile service.
Radio amateurism is a hobby, with more than 4,000 radioamateurs in Romania authorised by ANCOM. Most authorised radioamateurs are in Bucharest (817), then in Prahova (390), Brasov (259), Hunedoara (214), Timisoara (205), Cluj (180), Suceava (160), Constanta (159), Arad (151), Arges (140), Iasi (124), Bihor (120), Neamt (119), Maramures (108), Teleorman (107) si Dambovita (103). There are approximately 3 million people fond of radio amateurism.
