The National Regulatory Authority for Communications (ANRC) issued two new licences for the use of numbering resources to the companies S.C. Globtel Internet S.R.L from
Ploiesti and S.C. NetPoint S.R.L from Bucharest. Also, ANRC allotted a series of additional resources to S.C. Net-Connect Internet S.R.L., modifying the licence this operator has held since April.

Globtel Internet will provide fixed telephony services using 410,000 national geographic numbers within the 0Z=03 domain, divided into 41 blocks of 10,000 numbers each, for Bucharest and 40 counties. The standard format of the numbers is 031 880xxxx for Bucharest and 03AB 88xxxx for the counties (where AB is the county telephone prefix). Also, the company obtained 5,000 national non-geographic numbers within the 0Z=08 domain for the services provided through prepaid cards, virtual cards, green numbers and universal access numbers, as well as for the data networks access services and Internet access services. From the 0Z=09 domain, Globtel Internet received 1,000 numbers for general, business and marketing information services. The carrier selection code of this operator is 1072.

NetPoint obtained a block of 10,000 numbers, type 0317 30x xxx, for fixed telephony services in Bucharest and 3,000 non-geographic numbers for services provided through prepaid cards and green numbers, as well as for data networks access services and Internet access services. The carrier selection code of this operator is 1070.

Net-Connect Internet will provide fixed telephony services on the entire territory of Romania and has been alloted, in addition, 40 blocks of 10,000 numbers each, type 03AB 81x xxx (where AB is the county telephone prefix). Also, the company will provide televoting services, through virtual cards and green numbers, receiving 3,000 non-geographic numbers within the 0Z=08 domain for this purpose. Other 3,000 non-geographic numbers within the 0Z=09 domain were allotted to the same operator for entertainment, gaming and telephone contests services, general, business and marketing information services and entertainment services for adults.

The 42 companies that have so far obtained licences for the use of numbering resources will use over 36.8 million numbers.
