The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications is organising the international conference „Radio spectrum strategies – necessity, opportunity, involvement”, an event in close connection with the celebration, in 2011, of 20 years of radio spectrum management in Romania. The conference, in line with our traditional annual events with international participation, will take place on Thursday, 12 May 2011, at Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest, starting 9.00 hours.
This year, along with celebrating 20 years of radio spectrum management, Romania plans to initiate elaboration of radio spectrum strategies which would allow for the more efficient use of this resource and the allocation of new bands for the BWA technologies, while offering predictability to the economic environment.
The aim of the conference is to create a framework for the invited speakers to share their experiences, helping to the establishment of successful approaches that could further ensure a swift development of the telecommunication industry.
A High Level Segment, providing a global perspective over this year’s theme, will open the event, followed by three roundtables, hosting debates on Radio spectrum strategies for BWA services: global vs. specific, Radio spectrum strategies for BWA services: the market approachand Contest design for licensing the 800/2600 MHz bands – a regional approach.
Among the high officials invited to speak in the conference are Mr. François Rancy, Director of ITU-R, Mr. Gunnar Hökmark, MEP, Rapporteur for Radio Spectrum Policy Programme, Mr. Georg Serentschy, Vice-President of BEREC, as well as top executives of multinational telecom groups present in the region and of well-known consulting companies in the field.
More details about the conference are available on the dedicated webpage here.
