The President of ANCOM, Mr. Catalin Marinescu, has announced today in Cluj that ANCOM obtained a non-reimbursable financing of maximum RON 8,628,273.78 within the Sectoral Operational Programme “Increase of Economic Competitiveness” for the development of an e-learning platform.
ANCOM has rolled on, since 9 September 2011, the E-ANCOM.RO – THE E-LEARNING PLATFORM for ANCOMproject,co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, on the basis of the contract concluded with the Minister of Communications and Information Society. The total value of the project amounts to RON 10,917,407.64, out of which RON 8,628,273.78 represent the non-reimbursable financial assistance.
The overall objective of the project is to develop an e-learning portal (with intranet and internet components) which would facilitate the access to information and provide state-of-the-art technological support for the purpose of providing, via IT&C means, more efficient professional trainings, continuous improvement and information of the ANCOM personnel, on the one hand, and would also allow for the access of the entities operating in the area regulated by ANCOM to alternative training modules concerning the regulated fields and the registration and reporting methodology, on the other hand.
The creation and implementation of the e-learning platform for online training will enable each ANCOM employee to participate in at least one course, without needing to interrupt his/her activity, and thus the number of employees trained in one year will grow while the average training costs will decrease. The project is also designed for the students who benefit from training sessions within the Authority, granting them support in fathoming the specific knowledge in this field of activity, through a training process which is in line with the requirements of the European Union. Starting 2009, ANCOM has been organising annual series of training sessions which have gathered more than 150 final-year students of the electronic and telecommunications faculties and master students from four important university centres (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Timisoara)”, Catalin Marinescu, the President of ANCOM, said.

The project contributes to enhancing ANCOM staff’s level of professionalism and this will have both direct effects, i.e. on the beneficiaries of the services offered by ANCOM (the users and providers of electronic communications services, audiovisual communications, postal services, radio equipment and terminal telecommunications equipment), and indirect effects, i.e. on the increase of productivity at a level comparative with that existing within similar regulatory authorities across the European Union. The implementation period for the project is 20 months.
