Following the request of the company Il Numero regarding the transfer of the number 118931 to Infoclick, ANCOM considers that its takeover by one of the universal service providers for the directory enquiry service and for the directories of subscribers (Infoclick) may have a significant impact on the market segment of the directory enquiry services, as regards the current and potential competition in this segment and decides not to allow the transfer.
118931 is a number with a special potential economic value, the combination 931 being widely recognised, as Romtelecom had used it until 28 December 2009, to provide its own directory enquiry service.
Since, by using the number 118931, Infoclick may benefit from a significant advantage over its competitors, ANCOM rejects the request of Il Numero regarding the transfer of the number 118931 to Infoclick.
